General English Level 1 V 3
UNIT 05 Keeping well TOPIC 01 Talking about how you feel
Listening LISTENING 01 I feel awful
Amy and Carmen are waiting for their English class to start.
Amy:
Hi, Carmen. Am I late?
Carmen:
No, the teacher isn't here. What's wrong, Amy? You look sick. Do you feel OK?
Amy: No, I feel awful. I've got a headache and a stomach ache.
Carmen: Oh, no. I had the flu last week. Maybe you have the flu too.
Amy: Yeah. I feel really bad. I want to go back to bed.
Carmen: You should see a doctor first. My doctor is Jenny Hill. You know, Tom's sister. She's really good.
Amy: Good idea. Maybe I shouldn't stay for the class. I should go and see her.
Carmen: Yeah that's a good idea. Don't worry about the class. You can look at my notes tonight.
Amy: OK. Should I make an appointment?
Carmen: No, just go and sit in the waiting room. See Dr Hill, then you should go home and rest. It's the best thing to do when you're sick.
Amy: Don't worry, I will. Oh, here's the teacher. I should tell him before I go. See you tonight.
Carmen: OK. Take care Amy.
