Good morning listeners. Welcome to today's program - 'An Adventurous Life'. Today I'm talking to Thi Ngyuen - she's only 25 and she's lived in 3 countries. Welcome Thi.
Thi:
Thank you. It's great to be here.
Interviewer: Thi, where do you come from?
Thi: I was born in Vietnam. I used to live in Hanoi.
Interviewer: You speak English very well. Did you learn English at school?
Thi: Yes, I did. I also had English lessons after school.
Interviewer: Aha. So, why did you leave Vietnam?
Thi: Well, after I finished high school, I wanted to travel and see the world.
Interviewer: Really?
Thi: Yes. You see my cousin was living in Thailand when I finished school. He was working in a tourist information office. His boss needed another office worker, so I went to Thailand. I worked there for 3 years.
Interviewer: Did you enjoy your job?
Thi: Yes, I loved it.
Interviewer: What did you do in your job?
Thi: First I worked in the office. I met a lot of people from different countries. Then I was a tour guide for 2 years. I took tourists into the jungle, to the mountains, and on elephant rides too.
Interviewer: What fun!
Th:i It really was!
Interviewer: What happened next?
Thi: Well, I travelled around the world, for one year. When I was travelling in France I met a wonderful man.
Interviewer: Is this a love story?
Thi: Mm…well, yes. John is from Sydney, Australia. So, I came here and we got married.
Interviewer: How romantic. And what do you do now?
Thi: Well, now I'm studying Tourism.
Interviewer: One last question Thi. Have you got any advice for our listeners?
Interviewer: Yes, you can make your dreams come true. Work hard and believe in yourself.
Interviewer: That's good advice. Thanks very much for coming in today and telling us about your adventurous life
Thi: You're welcome!
