This is called the first conditional. We use the
first conditional to talk about possible future events. These events
might happen but they depend on another event. Look at these examples:
If
I
sav
e
enough money before then,
I'll go
on a holiday afterwards.
Maria might go on a holiday. It depends on how much money she saves.
We'll miss
the bus
if we don't hurry.
They might catch the bus. It depends on how quickly they leave the
restaurant.
We make the first conditional by using two clauses.

We can express the same meaning using negative forms of the verb
in the main clause and the 'if' clause.
