have spoken a lot about Princess Diana's death. Can you recount
the accident for us?

David Summers:
|
Yes, of course.
Well, the Princess and her friend, Dodi Al-fayed, left the Ritz
Hotel in Paris on the evening of August the 30th 1997. There
were a lot of paparazzi taking photos of them at the Ritz Hotel.

So were the paparazzi
following Diana?

Summers:

Yes, and the Princess
and Dodi were trying to get away from them. They tried to leave
the hotel quietly but the photographers saw them getting into
their Mercedes and they followed them.
|

Were they following
at high speed?
|

David
Summers:
|
Yes. They were
chasing them. Then the Mercedes went into a tunnel and crashed.
The driver and Dodi died at the scene of the accident and the
Princess died later in hospital.

So do you think
that the media caused Diana's death?

David
Summers:
|
Yes, definitely.
The high-speed car chase caused the crash.
|

in the studio today is journalist, Jackie North. ...Jackie,
what's your opinion on the subject?

Well, I don't
believe that the paparazzi caused Diana's death. They were only
doing their job. I believe that people should know what happens
in the lives of famous people. Diana was one of the most famous
people in the world. She was beautiful and glamorous and did
a lot of good charity work. People want to know about her life.
They buy millions of magazines about her.

protect the privacy of famous people!

to read about them!

I strongly disagree!
The privacy of famous people is more important than people who
want to read about them.

all the time. They need privacy!
