Todd:	Yes, it's beautiful. I wish I lived near the ocean. Hi, I'm Todd.
Sharon:	Hi, Todd, I'm Sharon. Are you enjoying the party?
Todd:	Yes, it's great. I love the music. How about you?
Sharon:	Yes, but I needed some fresh air. It's very crowded inside.
Todd:	Yes, there are a lot of people. It's very hot in there. Phew, I need a drink. I've been dancing all night. Would you like one?
Sharon:	No, thanks. I've got one.
Todd:	OK. Nice to meet you, Sharon. Maybe I'll see you on the dance floor!
Sharon:	Maybe. I need a bit more fresh air first. See you later.

Lei and Sompote meet in the park.
Lei:	Isn't it a beautiful day?
Sompote:	Yes, it's been lovely weather lately. Do you live around here?
Lei:	Yes, I live across the street. I come here whenever I can, just to sit and relax.
Sompote:	It's nice to have somewhere to sit in the sunshine. I only moved here last week.
Lei:	Really? Well, welcome to the neighbourhood. Do you like it here?
Sompote:	Yes, it's nice and quiet and people are friendly.
Lei:	Yes, that's true.
Sompote:	OK, I'm going for a walk. My doctor told me I have to exercise every day - I have a bad heart.
Lei:	Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Sompote:	Thanks, but I'm OK. I just have to take care of my health - exercise and eat well. Nice to chat to you.
Lei:	You too. Enjoy your walk.
Sompote:	Thanks. Enjoy the sunshine.

Amy and Louis meet at Louis' barbecue.
Amy:	Hello, I'm Amy.
Louis:	Oh, hi. I'm Louis. You're a friend of Cathy's, aren't you?
Amy:	Yes, that's right. We work together. You have a lovely garden, Louis.
Louis:	Thanks, Amy. I love working in my garden. It's very relaxing. Are you a gardener?
Amy:	No, I'm terrible with plants. Luckily I live in a flat.
Louis:	Oh, I couldn't live in a flat. I need my garden … Have you had anything to eat?
Amy:	No, not yet. But it all looks delicious.
Louis:	Well, come and get something to eat. My wife and I have been cooking all morning.
Amy:	You've done a wonderful job. The food looks wonderful. I'll just get a plate …
