LANGUAGE FOCUS 03 Expressing satisfaction
There are many ways to say that we are happy about our lives. This activity looks at some of them.
Julie says:
I had 2 older brothers and had always dreamed of having a younger sister. At last, my dream came true. I loved her!

Julie always wanted to have a younger sister and she tells us how happy she was when her sister arrived. She is expressing satisfaction about her little sister's birth.

Many things have happened in Julie's life to make her happy. Look at the words she uses to express her satisfaction with those things. Some are idiomatic words and expressions.

Julie says:
I applied for a course studying child psychology at uni. When I got accepted I was over the moon .
My parents gave me a puppy! I called him Bishka. I couldn't believe my luck! He was absolutely wonderful.
I love being in Africa. It is such a beautiful country and to spend every day watching mountain gorillas is the icing on the cake .
