YOUR DECISION: To stay in your new position
and to ask another manager to be your mentor, to help you succeed
in this position.
|
|
Your mentor is very helpful
and you learn many management skills from her. Soon, your job becomes
easier and the people you are managing become your friends again.
You feel more confident. When your mentor decides to retire, she
suggests to the Managing Director that you should take her place.
The Managing Director agrees.
You now have a secure, permanent job with a good income. Mostly
you feel quite happy in the job. But sometimes you feel that the
job doesn't have enough variety for you, and sometimes you feel
that you can't continue to grow and develop as a person in that
job. Although you want to stay where you are for the moment, you
are not sure that you want to stay there for the rest of your life.
You are starting to think about your options for the future.
This is the end of the game.
